Ocala (Fla.) Health's Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital will soon break ground on construction projects totaling $45 million, according to an Ocala Star Banner report.
West Marion Community Hospital is planning to add 4,820 square feet of space for a new cardiac center, including diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and cardiac interventions such as stents and balloon angioplasties. It will also add 13,212 square feet of space for 24 new medical/surgical beds.
Ocala Regional Medical Center has plans to renovate its intensive care unit — a process that will require adding 56,000 square feet to its ground floor. It plans to increase the total number of beds in the ICU to 48.
Once completed, the combined projects will require 75 additional employees, according to the report.
