A proposed 2012 budget set forth by Rockland County (N.Y.) Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef would cut some healthcare programs, including the prenatal clinic based at Nyack (N.Y.) Hospital, according to a LoHud news report.
Mr. Vanderhoef's proposed $701.8 million budget is down from the 2011 spending budget of $709.1 million. In addition to county property tax increases and other proposed changes, the budget would end funding for Summit Park's nursing home, acute-care unit and mental health care clinic; close the county's guidance center and adult home; and eliminate a cancer prevention program.
Members of the Rockland Legislature are currently reviewing the proposed budget.
