New hospital to be constructed in Alabama

A new hospital will be built in Thomasville, Ala., according to a WKRG report.

The 83,000-square-foot facility will have 29 beds, a surgery center and an area for outpatient care, according to the report.

Once built, Thomasville area residents will no longer have to drive up to 20 minutes to get to the closest hospital, the report reads.

The project is expected to be completed by fall 2016.
