Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla., has broken ground on the largest part of its $200 million expansion project — a new patient and surgical tower.
The four-story tower is the centerpiece of the hospital's transformation plan, which is expected to take roughly four years to complete and will add more than 200,000 square feet in total space.
Features of the tower include:
- An additional main entrance
- Private rooms
- Surgical services and operating rooms
- Women's services and a maternity center
- An orthopedics unit
The projected is slated for completion in 2016.
