Moody's Investors Service has affirmed the "Ba3" rating assigned to Roanoke Rapids, N.C.-based Halifax Regional Medical Center's bonds, affecting approximately $12 million of rated debt.
Moody's has also revised the rating outlook to positive from stable.
The "Ba3" affirmation is based on several factors, including Halifax's small size and often below average financial performance.
The outlook revision reflects Moody's belief that stronger operating performance will be maintained, allowing Halifax to continue improving balance sheet metrics while generating debt service coverage.
