Moody's Investors Service has assigned an "A2" rating to Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Wake Forest Baptist Health, affecting $611 million of existing debt.
The rating reflects Moody's view that the system will continue to benefit from its position as the sole academic medical center in its region which will support solid market share. The system's acquisition of High Point (N.C.) Regional will lead to revenue growth opportunities and better support for narrow networks.
The rating outlook has been revised from stable to negative.
