Moody's Investors Service has affirmed the "Baa1" rating assigned to Milwaukee-based Wheaton Franciscan Services', which does business as Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.
The affirmation of WFH's rating was based on a number of factors. The health system has had five consecutive years of profitable operations, and WFH's cash levels have improved, with the health system having 150 days cash on hand.
WFH also faces challenges, such as ongoing and intensifying competitive pressures in each of the system's regions from both hospitals and physician alliances.
