Moody's Investors Service has affirmed the "A1" rating on Akron (Ohio) Children's Hospital, affecting $190 million of outstanding debt.
The rating affirmation was based on several factors, including ACH's leading market share as a regional pediatric provider, strong operating performance and maintenance of good balance sheet ratios.
Offsetting these strengths is a high reliance on supplemental Medicaid funding and competitive pressure from large nearby health systems.
The outlook is stable, reflecting Moody's expectation that ACH will continue to maintain double digit operating cash flow margins and maintain market share despite competition in Cleveland and Columbus (Ohio).
