The Missouri Hospital Association has launched a new website, Enroll Missouri, which aims to help providers and patients better understand the health insurance exchanges ahead of their go-live date.
Starting in October, the public will be able to sign up for health plans through state health insurance marketplaces that were established under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Enroll Missouri includes resources, such as a report on strategies to reach and educate the uninsured, which can help providers enroll newly eligible individuals.
"Hundreds of thousands of uninsured Missourians who currently know little about the exchange will have the opportunity to make a decision about their health insurance coverage, beginning this fall," MHA President and CEO Herb Kuhn said in a news release. "These new tools are intended to educate stakeholders about best strategies for engaging enrollees and help define individuals', employers' and providers' place in the system."
