Memorial Hospital of Carbondale (Ill.) has broken ground on a $52 million modernization and expansion project.
Plans for the project includes the addition of three operating rooms to the existing seven, the addition of eight new intensive care unit beds, renovation of the post anesthesia care unit as well as modernization of the pharmacy.
Construction is slated to be complete by spring 2017, according to a report by The Southern Illinoisan.
