MedData, a MEDNAX company and a national provider of technology-enabled healthcare solutions, has acquired Duet Health.
Duet is a developer of patient engagement software and mHealth solutions. It provides multi-platform software products aimed at better communication and engagement with patient populations. Duet's software, which is available in web, mobile and kiosk options, allows physician and administrative staff to send secure text, image, and video messages, hold secure image libraries, retrieve on-call schedules and directories, and access various additional features to enhance productivity, according to a news release.
MedData CEO Ann Barnes expressed excitement about the deal.
"This acquisition immediately gives hospitals and providers access to some of the best tools available and a technology platform that will extend their reach and transform their approach to patient engagement," she said in a prepared statement. "Coupled with our suite of patient-focused services, including eligibility and enrollment, third party liability and patient reimbursement, clients have a more complete solution to deal with the growing issue of patient responsibility."
Jeff Harper, CEO and co-founder of Duet, also expressed enthusiasm.
"Joining MedData provides us the unique opportunity to be introduced to a wider audience and become even more integrated into the healthcare provider workflow," he said in a prepared statement. "Delivering impactful solutions that improve outcomes, increase patient satisfaction, and ultimately boost productivity and ROI [return on investment] will continue to be our focus — but MedData gives us the ability to better scale development and deliver solutions faster to our clients."
