In support of CMS's goal to transition 30 percent of Medicare payments to alternative models this year, McKesson Health Solutions and HealthQX have partnered to help payers quickly design, innovate and scale bundled payment solutions for episodes of care.
The software companies will combine their service offerings, which span the continuum of the payer claims cycle. Healthcare clients will be able to use HealthQX's ClarityQx claims analysis software before diving into McKesson's value-based reimbursement solutions.
Under the terms of the agreement, HealthQX and McKesson will jointly market their solutions to their respective customers, as well as coordinate consulting and service offerings. The aim is to give payers access to an end-to-end solution when innovating bundled payment programs for and with providers.
The financial terms of the deal between McKesson and HealthQX were not disclosed, reports Philadelphia Business Journal.
"Interest in bundled payment as a fast path to value-based reimbursement has never been greater, and payers and providers alike need help getting started and scaling up," said Carolyn Wukitch, senior vice president of McKesson. "The power of our combined solutions will help customers with retrospective or prospective payment programs across the board, from the front-end analysis where HealthQX is a leader, to automating and scaling operations within their claim workflow using McKesson's innovative suite of value-based reimbursement solutions."
