James Beer, McKesson's executive vice president and CFO, is departing the company and will be replaced by an internal successor.
Here are five things to know.
1. Mr. Beer is leaving McKesson to take on a new job as CFO of enterprise collaboration company Atlassian in San Francisco. He is slated to begin his new role in February 2018.
2. His successor at McKesson will be Britt Vitalone, senior vice president and CFO of U.S. Pharmaceutical and McKesson Specialty Health.
3. Mr. Vitalone will begin his new role as executive vice president and CFO of McKesson Jan. 1, 2018, and Mr. Beer will help out during the transition period, according to McKesson.
4. Mr. Beer has been part of a number of accomplishments during his four-year tenure at McKesson. Just a few cited by the company include McKesson's expanded retail presence, growth in the company's specialty capabilities and the completion of the merger between McKesson and Change Healthcare.
5. Mr. Vitalone has worked for McKesson for more than a decade. His previous roles in the company have included senior vice president of corporate financial planning and analysis and merger and acquisition finance, as well as senior vice president and CFO of McKesson Medical-Surgical.
