Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and Optum 360, based in Wakefield, Mass., have partnered to develop new revenue cycle management services capabilities.

The partnership aims to improve patient experience, while also reducing healthcare providers' administrative costs. The partnership will result in:

•    A patient cost estimator tool
•    Streamlined prior authorization processes
•    Enhanced claims edition functions
•    Simplification of administrative billing activities associated with pre-care packaged pricing

"Mayo Clinic and Optum360 have a shared vision of how a patient can best experience the revenue cycle as part of their care," said Sandhya Pruthi, MD, Mayo Clinic's medical director for patient experience. "Through our work together, we will also address the unique needs and regulatory requirements of the market and deliver a superior patient experience."
