Majority of Employers Believe Health Law Will Negatively Affect Their Companies

A new study by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans has found 66 percent of employers believe the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will negatively affect their companies.

The study found 88 percent of employers believe the PPACA will increase the cost of covering health insurance for their employees.

The study also found the number of employers who said their companies would continue offering health insurance coverage for all full-time employees is growing. In 2012, 46 percent of employers said they would continue health insurance coverage, and in 2014, that number grew to 76 percent of employers.

The study was based on survey responses from 691 human resources and benefits professionals from nearly 20 industries.
