Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe, which closed in early February, has shut down 14 medical clinics in Louisiana and two clinics in Mississippi.
After facing financial challenges in recent years, the 134-bed hospital and its affiliated medical group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Jan. 30. Louisiana Heart Hospital shut down Feb. 10.
According to a press release from Atlanta law firm Alston & Bird, the hospital has now closed its 14 clinics in Louisiana, which includes four clinics in Slidell, three in Mandeville, two in Covington, two in Lacombe and one each in Bogalusa, Franklinton and Hammond. The hospital has also closed its two Mississippi clinics in Picayune and Bay St. Louis.
Although the clinics have closed, many of the physicians will continue to see patients at new private practices in the same area.
