Portland, Ore.-based Legacy Health is delaying the controversial reopening of its Mount Hood birthing center as the Oregon Health Authority requests more information on such plans, according to a June 13 The Lund Report article.
The health system said in April it would open the shuttered center within the next three months. The OHA had refused to grant the system a waiver to close the center, but Legacy Health was diverting pregnant women to other locations in its service area.
Legacy Health said it now doesn't expect approval for the reopening to be granted for at least one week.
The OHA also launched a separate but linked investigation into Legacy Health's original decision to close the Mount Hood maternity center without such a waiver.
