Lawrence (Mass.) General Hospital will soon begin a $56 million expansion project, according to a report by The Boston Globe.
The project will include demolishing an old building and constructing a new 45,000-square-foot surgical building. The project will replace 49-year-old operating rooms, Jill McDonald Halsey, the hospital’s chief marketing and communication officer told The Boston Globe.
The surgical building is the centerpiece of a $72 million, multiyear master plan, which also includes renovations to patient rooms and waiting areas, according to the report.
