Land of Lincoln Health Lost $4M in Q1

Chicago-based health insurer Land of Lincoln Health Co-op recorded $1.9 million in premium revenue against $6.1 million in expenses in the first quarter of 2014.

Land of Lincoln Health's expenses included $1.6 million in payments for medical services and prescription drugs and $4.5 million in administrative costs and claims adjustments during its first quarter of operation, according to a Crain's Chicago Business report.

Land of Lincoln Health has said it will sell plans during the next enrollment period for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act exchanges in November, according to the report.
