Golf legend Jack Nicklaus launched a campaign to raise $100 million for children's hospitals in the next five years, according to Golfweek.
Mr. Nicklaus and his family are long-time advocates for children's hospitals and the Children's Miracle Network of Hospitals, which funds pediatric healthcare treatment for millions of children. The Nicklaus family also has close relationships with Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and Miami-based Nicklaus Children's Hospital, which is named after Mr. Nicklaus.
A recent article in Politico revealed that President Donald Trump's proposed $4.75 trillion budget for fiscal year 2020 would direct $20 million of funding for a hospital program linked to Mr. Nicklaus. Under President Trump's proposal, HHS would earmark $20 million for a mobile children's hospital program at Nicklaus Children's.
