Franklin, Tenn.-based IASIS Healthcare's revenue increased to $655.4 million in the fourth quarter of its fiscal 2014, up from $563 million in the same period one year ago.
The increase in revenue was partially attributable to an increase in admissions. In the fourth quarter, adjusted admissions increased 2.6 percent from the fourth quarter of last year. Additionally, net patient revenue per adjusted admission increased 5.2 percent in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014 compared to the same period one year ago.
IASIS Healthcare posted income of $5.2 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014, which was a significant increase over the $3.6 million loss the system posted for the same period last year.
"We are very pleased with the strong results in both our acute-care and managed care operations," said Carl Whitmer, president and CEO of IASIS Healthcare. "We are excited about our plans for the upcoming 2015 fiscal year, which include growing our core provider business, expanding our managed care operations and continuing integration of our business lines in a manner that improves population health, results in more cost efficient care and drives value."
