Healthcare advocates, physicians groups and insurance trade associations met with the Illinois legislature, saying the state should have a limited role in running the state's health insurance exchange, according to an Illinois Statehouse News report.
Some groups such as the Illinois Campaign for Better Health Care argued that exchanges should have little governmental influence because the political setting changes too often, the report said.
However, many supported the state establishing regulations for the exchange but not running the day-to-day operations.
