Spokane Valley, Wash.-based Healthcare Resource Group, a provider of medical billing and coding staffing services, is in the middle of a growth boom, according to a Spokane Journal of Business report.
Here are six things to know about the issue.
1. The company said an increased demand for services has resulted in the hiring of 70 new employees over the last year, and hiring is expected to continue.
2. The company currently has 400 total employees, with more than 200 based in Spokane Valley, according to CFO Kris English.
3. Ms. English told the Spokane Journal of Business the company expects to hire another 20 to 25 coders, billers and follow-up representatives in 2016.
4. As a result of HRG's rapid growth, it now occupies almost all of the office space available to it, according to the report.
5. Ms. English told the Spokane Journal of Business between 75 to 100 medical coders are able to work remotely from their homes. Employees not in the Spokane office or working from home have offices in the medical facilities that have contracted with HRG.
6. The Affordable Care Act and the healthcare industry's transition to ICD-10 are pointed to as contributors to staff growth at HRG.
