Hawaii's largest health system taps AccessOne for patient financing, R1 RCM reveals new revenue cycle platform & more — 11 RCM key notes

Here are 11 recent updates on companies providing revenue cycle management services.

1. R1 RCM, a revenue cycle management service provider, ended fiscal year 2017 with a $58.8 million net loss, compared to net income of $177.1 million reported in fiscal year 2016.  

2. VisitPay entered into an exclusive agreement with JPMorgan Chase Bank in connection with the bank's plan to extend recourse financing to VisitPay's new Balance Transfer program, which will provide wholesale funding to healthcare providers.

3. The Queen's Health Systems in Honolulu partnered with AccessOne, a Fort Mill, S.C.-based provider of patient payment options.

4. VitalWare is adding a professional Revenue Integrity Services business unit. 

5. Cognizant agreed to acquire revenue cycle management company Bolder Healthcare Solutions.

6. Parallon and Loyale Healthcare entered a strategic partnership for patient financial management.

7. Sonoma (Calif.) Valley Hospital, a 75-bed district facility, chose health IT solutions provider ezDI for various tools aimed at revenue cycle management improvement.

8. Chadds Ford, Pa.-based Revint Solutions, a national healthcare solutions and consulting services provider, acquired the Sterling, Va.-based healthcare data analytics firm Naveos. 

9. R1 RCM revealed its new revenue cycle platform called Patient Experience.

10. Health IT vendor eClinicalWorks will offer hospitals and health systems a new platform for acute care EHR and revenue cycle management. 

11. Columbia-based University of Missouri Health Care will deploy Cerner's revenue cycle management offerings at various facilities.
