Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest increase in share price at 26.2 percent.

- Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $16.24 per share (up 5.2 percent)
- Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $116.65 per share (up 4.2 percent)
