For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Jan. 8-12

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest increase in share price at 26.2 percent.

Here is how the five operators stacked up as of Jan. 12.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $5.15 per share (up 26.2 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $88.82 per share (up 2.1 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $49.70 per share (up 4.5 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $16.24 per share (up 5.2 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $116.65 per share (up 4.2 percent)
