For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Jan. 5-9

Two of the major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Shares of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare were down 3.23 percent last week, the most of any of the major for-profit hospital operators

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $55.25 per share (up 2.66 percent)
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $73.07 per share (down 1.19 percent)
  • LifePoint Hospitals (Brentwood, Tenn.): $73.10 per share (up 2.81 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $48.54 per share (down 3.23 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $112.97 per share (up 2.14 percent)
