For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Dec. 8-12

Four of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems was the only hospital operator to see its share price increase last week, with its shares up 1.17 percent.

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare saw the largest decrease in share price, with its shares falling 2.72 percent to $50.34 last week.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $50.89 per share (up 1.17 percent)
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $72.94 per share (down 1.43 percent)
  • LifePoint Hospitals (Brentwood, Tenn.): $70.55 per share (down 1.71 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $50.34 per share (down 2.72 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $106.64 per share (down 0.79 percent)
