Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest increase in share price, 9 percent.
Here's how the five operators stacked up as of Aug. 31:
- Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $3.88 per share (up 9 percent)
- HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $134.11 per share (up 2.1 percent)
- LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $64.40 per share (up 0.1 percent)
- Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $33.72 per share (up 5.8 percent)
- Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $130.16 per share (up 1.6 percent)
