For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Aug. 21-25

Four of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare saw the greatest increase in share price at 15.1 percent.

Here is how the five operators stacked up, as of Aug. 25.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $7.58 per share (up 11 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $79.64 per share (up 2.7 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $56.86 per share (down 1 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $16.50 per share (up 15.1 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $108.84 per share (up 0.8 percent)
