Fitch affirms OSF Healthcare System's 'A' rating, outlook stable

Fitch Ratings has affirmed the "A" rating on bonds issued by the Illinois Finance Authority on behalf of Peoria, Ill.-based OSF Healthcare System.

OSF owns and operates nine healthcare facilities — eight in Illinois and one in Michigan. The health system's flagship hospital is 609-bed St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.

The affirmation of the rating was based on a number of factors, including the improvement of OSF's balance sheet metrics year-over-year for the last five years and its good market share position. In addition, OSF's operating EBITDA has increased from 6.1 percent in fiscal year 2013 to 9.9 percent through June 30 of this year.
