Envision Healthcare, a physician services and ASC company backed by private equity firm KKR, inked an in-network deal with Aetna.
Envision's 25,000 physicians, advanced care providers and more than 250 ASCs will be in network with Aetna, a CVS Health company. The deal includes both commercial and Medicare members.
Envision's physician network provides anesthesiology, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, radiology and more across 34 states. The company also provides teleradiology and neonatology services.
In 2021, Envision broke with UnitedHealthcare in a high-profile move that resulted in the organizations trading lawsuits and a credit downgrade for Envision. Last year, Moody's said the company was near bankruptcy, but has been able to stave it off so far.
Over the years, Envision has relied on an out-of-network strategy with insurers, but the No Surprises Act made their core business model challenging.
