drchrono has released an updated version of its EHR platform that allows providers to capture and store images of patient insurance cards and credit cards via iPad, iPhone or web.
With the updated patient check-in app, physicians can capture and upload an image of a patient's insurance and credit cards to the EHR platform. A patient can also complete the process through a personal health app and send the information to their physician.
drchrono believes the ability to digitally capture patient insurance and financial information will help eliminate a major cause of claim denials — incorrect patient information.
"Incorrect information from patients' insurance cards are the single largest source of rejected claims for most practices," said drchrono CEO and co-founder Michael Nusimow. "Having both the correct insurance information and credit card information stored electronically on the drchrono platform will help the doctor get paid more for work they have already done and help reduce their days in accounts receivable that all of the claims go through."
