Deaconess, Methodist Hospital to develop new medical facility: 3 things to know

Evansville, Ind.-based Deaconess Health System is finalizing a letter of intent to partner directly with Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Ky. to jointly develop a new outpatient center in Henderson.

Here are three things to know about the proposed outpatient center.

1. The facility is slated to be developed on more than 10 acres of land that Deaconess purchased last fall.

2. Services in the new outpatient facility include urgent Care — with evening and weekend hours — workers compensation and occupational medicine services, radiology and laboratory services, a large group of current and new primary care providers, home medical equipment and space for specialty physicians required in the community.

3. In a news release, Deaconess called the proposed facility "a significant investment in the community," and said that by working with Methodist, " We can provide the highest level of care for the people of HendersonCounty, in a convenient location. Coordination with Methodist will prevent duplication of services in the market, keeping appropriate care close to home."
