Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y., has announced plans to replace its current emergency department with one that is twice as big, according to The Post-Standard.
The new, $35 million ED will be roughly 16,000 square feet when completed and will have 46 treatment rooms, 30 more than the existing ED that was built in 1972. As part of the project, the current ED will also be converted into an urgent care space for patients.
Construction is slated to begin in early 2016, according to the report.
