Cox Medical Center Branson is close to completing a $30 million emergency department and critical care unit expansion and renovation project.
The project includes a 42,000-square-foot addition and the renovation of 18,000 square feet of space. The critical care unit will include 20 private rooms and the ED is expected to be able to cater to 55,000 to 60,000 patients annually, according to William Mahoney, president of Cox Medical Center Branson.
The project began nearly one year ago, and the first phase is set to open in late September.
