Covenant Health, Tennova Sign Deal With Tennessee's CO-OP

Three hospitals and health systems in Tennessee have struck agreements with Community Health Alliance, the state's lone Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan.

The organizations to partner with CHA are Covenant Health and Tennova Healthcare, multihospital competitors based in Knoxville, and Decatur County General Hospital, a 40-bed rural hospital based in Parsons.

All three providers are now part of CHA's preferred provider network, which will offer health plans on Tennessee's health insurance marketplace this October. CO-OPs are consumer-owned, nonprofit health insurers created under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
