Consumer Reports: Medicaid HMOs in Northeast Among the Top-Ranked

The National Committee for Quality Assurance recently ranked the top Medicaid managed care health plans based on consumer satisfaction, prevention and treatment, and HMOs in the Northeast were among the top-ranked plans, according to a report from Consumer Reports (pdf).

The list covers 99 Medicaid HMOs from 30 states and the District of Columbia, less than half of all Medicaid HMOs.

States with some of the highest-ranked Medicaid HMOs included Massachusetts (four HMOs ranked in the top 10), New York, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Michigan. States with some of the lowest-ranked Medicaid HMOs included Missouri, California, West Virginia, New Mexico and Kansas.
