Construction of a new veterans hospital in Aurora, Colo. is once again ongoing thanks to an interim agreement between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and contractor Kiewit-Turner, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The project has experienced some setbacks. Earlier in December, it was determined the VA breached its contract with Kiewit-Turner, according to the report.
The Denver Business Journal reports that the recent agreement will cost the VA a total of $234 million, which includes a $157 million payment to Kiewit-Turner for previous costs, along with $50 million for several months of on-site work.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will oversee the project and assist in long-term planning for completion of the facility, according to The Wall Street Journal.
