Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems previewed its operating results for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014, which fell slightly below analysts' expectations, according to a Nashville Post report.
The system expects its operating results for the fourth quarter of 2014 to "reflect a 56.4 percent increase in total admissions and a 58.2 percent increase in adjusted admissions compared with the same period in 2013."
CHS expects its net operating revenues for the three months ended Dec. 31, 2014 to be approximately $4.9 billion, which is a $1.7 billion increase over the system's operating revenues for the same period in 2013. The increase in revenue was largely attributable to CHS' acquisition of Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates.
However, CHS' expected operating revenues for the fourth quarter of 2014 fall slightly below analysts' expectations of $5 billion.
The system expects adjusted EBITDA for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014 to be about $785 million, an increase of 71 percent over adjusted EBITDA of $459 million for the same period in 2013.
