CommonSpirit's annual revenue by region

Chicago-based CommonSpirit saw its total operating revenue grow by 10% year over year to $37.5 billion in fiscal 2024. Net patient revenues were $34 billion, up from $30.4 billion, and premium revenues were $1.5 billion, up from $1.4 billion. 

The 137-hospital system reported a $581 million operating loss — compared to a $1.3 billion loss in fiscal 2023 — and attributed its improved financial performance to strong volume growth, reduced labor costs and higher productivity. 

Below is a breakdown of CommonSpirit's revenue by region for the fiscal year ending June 30.

Southern California: $7.78 billion
Northern California: $5.46 billion
California: $13.24 billion

Southwest: $4.57 billion
Midwest: $3.28 billion
Central: $7.85 billion

Southeast: $4.22 billion
Texas: $2.94 billion
South: $7.16 illion

Mountain: $3.76 billion

Northwest: $4.97 billion

Northern California: $5.06 billion
California: $11.91 illion

Southwest: $4.42 billion
Midwest: $3.06 billion
Central: $7.48 billion
