The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has approved a waiver naming HMS, a subsidiary of HMS Holdings, the Medicaid recovery audit contractor for New York, according to a news release.
HMS will continue to provide Medicaid overpayment recovery services to New York as part of its current contract and will expand its services to include administration of the technology and processes needed for provider overpayment self-disclosure.
HMS has provided third-party liability and program integrity services for New York since 2001, during which time the company recovered more than $1 billion on behalf of the state's Medicaid program.
