CFO Keith D. Persinger: Leading efforts at UMMC to improve efficiency and finances

Keith D. Persinger is the senior vice president and CFO of the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. As such, Mr. Persinger is responsible for the financial and strategic management, decision and operations support, budgeting, financial and capital planning, debt management and the Shared Services Center Administration of UMMC.

Mr. Persinger will spearhead efforts to improve UMMC's efficiency as part of the hospital's five-year strategic plan for 2014 through 2018. The goal is for UMMC to achieve a net operating margin of 2 percent by fiscal year 2015 and 3 percent by FY2016 to support the hospital's mission of providing top-quality patient care.

Before being promoted to his current position, Mr. Persinger served in various other financial roles for UMMC, prior to which he was a healthcare consultant at KPMG.

Mr. Persinger serves as the nominations chair for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Baltimore and co-authored a paper on revenue analysis for perioperative services published in the journal, Nursing Management.
