University of Southern California Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale will close its labor and delivery services, along with its neonatal intensive care unit, on Nov. 20.
The decision was based on an examination of services at the hospital, community needs and shifting demographics, a spokesperson for the hospital said in a Sept. 7 statement shared with Becker's.
USC Verdugo Hills is working to ensure patients and their families continue to have access to obstetric care "close to home" during the transition. It is also working to support employees affected by the service closures.
