Adventist Health St. Helena (Calif.) Hospital reduced its workforce as part of an outsourcing deal with Cerner, according to a Napa Valley Register report.
Here are three things to know.
1. The hospital outsourced 200 of its employees to Cerner. This brought SHH's total workforce down to 1,036, a nearly 16 percent staff reduction, hospital officials said.
2. SHH spokesperson Jill Kinney told the Napa Valley Register affected employees, who are revenue cycle and clinical applications IT staff, will receive comparable pay and benefits with Cerner. They will also all still work on the hospital campus.
3. The outsourcing move is not about cutting costs but rather "about working more efficiently (and) speeding up innovation," according to Ms. Kinney. It was implemented last month.
