Caldwell Medical Center, a 25-bed critical access hospital in Princeton, Ky., has sold its home health agency to an investor-owned home health chain.
Almost Family, which operates more than 240 home health nursing locations across 14 states, acquired Caldwell's branch for an undisclosed sum. Caldwell's home health agency generated about $1.3 million of revenue last year.
Both parties expect the deal will close by the end of this April, pending regulatory approval. Caldwell's home health employees would become employees of Almost Family.
In the past year, Almost Family also completed an acquisition of SunCrest HealthCare, a Louisville, Ky.-based skilled nursing provider with 75 locations, as well as a controlling interest in Imperium Health Management, a company that helps create accountable care organizations.
