Broward Health Foundation receives $5.5M gift toward new imaging center

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health Foundation has been gifted $5.5 million from Marvin H. Weiner and Jacqueline J. Bernstein, two local philanthropists.

The donation will be used to construct the Jacqueline J. Bernstein and Marvin H. Weiner Imaging Center at Broward Health Imperial Point and to modernize equipment, including a new MRI machine.

The donation is one of the largest in recent history, according to an Oct. 10 news release.

Mr. Weiner and Ms. Bernstein were inspired to donate following the cancer care Mr. Weiner received at Broward Health Imperial Point hospital, also in Fort Lauderdale.

Mr. Weiner died Sept. 6.
