Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Mich., part of Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Health, has filed a certificate of need with the state for a $160 million expansion project, which is the largest building project for the hospital in more than two decades.
The plan includes an expansion of Botsford's Emergency and Trauma Center and construction of a new critical care unit. In addition, nine new operating rooms will be added to the 330-bed hospital.
The goal of the project is to enhance the hospital's ability to provide coordinated care.
"With this expansion, patients and their families will benefit from the most innovative and advanced medical technologies in a safe and welcoming environment designed for patient-centered care," said Paul E. LaCasse, DO, president and CEO of Botsford and chair of Beaumont Health's Clinical Leadership Council.
The expansion project is expected to begin in late summer 2015.
