Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System has reported an operating income of $131 million for the six-month period ending June 30.
That number, which represents an operating margin of almost 5 percent, with revenues during the period totaling $2.7 billion, builds on $128.1 million of operating income in the same period in 2022.
Salaries and wages rose almost 8 percent, while supply expenses increased almost 9 percent in the period.
Large gains in non-operating income saw the 16-hospital system report net income of $531.5 million compared with a net loss last year of $788.4 million.
