Baptist Orange (Texas) Hospital, part of Beaumont-based Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, will close its emergency room Friday.
The ER closure comes after the hospital ceased inpatient services in 2015 and stopped offering obstetric services in 2013.
Following the ER shutdown, Baptist Orange Hospital will offer outpatient laboratory services, imaging, infusion services and sleep studies.
Orange County community leaders floated the idea of creating a new hospital district and hospital last week, according to The Orange Leader. However, those discussions are in early stages.
