Medford, Ore.-based Asante Health, which will soon have a new president and CEO, reported operating income of $9.5 million for the second quarter on revenue of $943.3 million.
Those figures compare with an operating loss of $49.1 million in the same quarter of 2022 on revenue of nearly $894 million. Expenses in the second quarter were down on last year, with salaries and benefits declining almost 6 percent.
Overall income for the period totaled $120.5 million versus a $155 million net loss in 2022.
"Asante Health System is working to improve financial performance," the three-hospital system said in the filing. "Asante has implemented a financial recovery plan consisting of five focus teams with a major focus on staffing along with capacity and throughput."
Asante Health had its outlook revised to negative by S&P Global Aug. 3, the filing said.
Tom Gessel will be its new president and CEO effective Sept. 18.
